XPak Liner Systems

The TIW XPak Expandable Liner Hanger/Packer is designed to run with standard liner applications and incorporates industry proven expandable technology to provide a liner top anchor/sealing device that is unmatched in the industry.

The unique design of the TIW XPak System allows a relatively short expanded section, generally ranging from 16 to 24 inches depending on liner size, to provide a pressure differential rating equal to the well bore casing design and a hanging load capacity equal to or greater than conventional liner hangers.

The slim profile design, with no external parts allows increased bypass area in most sizes and the robust running tool design provides high torque capabilities for rotation and/or drilling with liner operations.

The TIW XPak Liner System is manufactured from standard OTCG material and can match most casing grades. Also available in CRA Material.

DOWN HOLE POWER TOOL

The TIW CPT Casing Pulling System is used to retrieve casing in applications where the drilling rig or work string does not have sufficient capacity to pull the casing. It may be used as a replacement for surface casing jacking systems. The TIW CPT System is used in conjunction with standard casing cutting and fishing tools, and is used to exert the pulling force required to retrieve the casing. The TIW CPT may also be used to dislodge other material from the casing or wellbore.The TIW CPT System consists of a down hole multi-stage hydraulic actuator that functions as a hydraulic jack and a hydraulic set mechanically releasable gripper that anchors the jack to the casing wall. The anchor section can be released and reset downhole as many times a s required. The TIW CPT is normally furnished with a rotary shouldered pin connection on the bottom to allow the use of casing cutting and/or retrieving tools such as mills, and spears.

ANCHOR SECTION
The Multi-Piston Power Section provides a combined cross sectional area that when pressure is applied generates the forces required to begin the upward movement of the fish.

POWER SECTION
The Anchor Section is activated with pressure on the power section and the cones push the slips outward anchoring the CPT in place.
After the stroke is completed, a straight pull upward on the power section releases the slips. The power section can then be reset and the anchor then re-engaged.

R&D AT WELLBORE

Our research and development (R&D) efforts primarily focus on continuously improving our existing product portfolio.

Wellbore’s R&D department currently employs 2 full time employees.

Our current R&D portfolio is organized in two programs; one directed towards P&A and Slot recovery and one towards Expandable Linerhanger systems.

Other services includes studies for supplying non-standard products.
To reduce cost and time, advanced software is used to simulate the proposed product.

Wellbore’s research centre is located in Tananger.

WHAT DRIVES THE VALUES OF OUR BUSINESS

The current average recovery factor for oil fields on a worldwide basis is about 35 per cent, which means that about two-thirds of the resources originally in place remain behind in the reservoir.

Improving recovery from producing fields is the single most important contributor to value creation, and raising it by even a few percentage points represents enormous value on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).

Improved oil recovery (IOR) accordingly tops the agenda for Norway’s oil authorities, and technology is the key to success.

Many production wells on the NCS dating back to the 1970s and 1980s face being plugged and abandoned because they are no longer profitable. Two options are available for these wells – permanent plugging and abandonment (P&A) with the removal of their wellheads, or re-using the slot by plugging the mother well and sidetracking a new wellbore. This option is also known as slot recovery.

Abandoning old wells with a subsequent slot recovery operation will be important for improving the average hydrocarbon recovery factor on the NCS.

These operations face such challenges as high costs, safety, environmental issues and rapidly growing demand. Maintaining overall well integrity has historically proved  difficult when re-entering old wellbores.

We are a rapidly expanding oil service company specialising in the downhole service segment and providing state-of-the-art technology, with main focus on Expandable Linerhanger systems and P&A and Slot recovery operations.

Established in 2004, we are a fast-growing company and address a billion-dollar market.

We generated revenues of NOK 45 million in 2011 and NOK 145 million in 2012.

Located in Stavanger, we are currently owned by our directors and employees.

WHAT OUR PRODUCTS DO

Our Downhole Power Tool makes it possible for offshore operators to execute cost-efficient slot-recovery operations, and thereby represents an effective contribution to extending the producing life of a field.

This product saves valuable rig time.
Using our technology means that an operator will need less lifting capacity and put less strain on existing equipment on the drilling rig, which in turn minimizes the risk of accidents and increases overall safety.

Traditionally, a cut-and-pull casing operation is limited by lifting capacity on the rig. Our Downhole Power Tool generates a lot more power locally in the well and thereby reduces the need for lifting capability.

Overall, the Downhole Power Tool saves valuable rig time and substantial operational costs for the field operator when working on slot recovery.

We also provide an advanced Linerhanger system, which serves as a barrier element in new or old producing wells. Our XPak Linerhanger System is a gas-tight system which makes the producing well tight and secure.

These two main solutions are supplementet by a number of smaller products in our portfolio. For the downhole technology segment, we market products/services such as Fishing Services, Monodiameter liner systems, Collapsed tubing opening systems (CTO).

    Wellbore AS, in cooperation with TIW, has successfully qualified a 17” x 20” XPak liner hanger according to ISO 14310 V0 rating.
    This is the first gas tight rating on a big bore liner system which a North Sea operator required for shallow gas environment. The portfolio for ISO V0 tested XPak systems now includes systems to be set in  7”, 9 5/8”, 13 3/8” and 20” casing.

    This certificate is valid for the following activities: design, development, sales, rental, operation and maintenance of downhole tools and accessories.

    This will mainly be used for maintenance on cut and pull equipment.
